INTRODUCTION
I am Arowolo Emmanuel Babajide, A 300level student in the faculty of agricultural science in ekiti state university. My venture is ORDINARY FARMS.
~VISION: Efficiency in quality food supply thereby advancing agriculture for humanity.
~MISSION: To provide quality food products and its security to sustain a healthy nation.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Cowpea cultivation in conjuction with apiary is an integrated farming scheme conceived by ORDINARY FARMS. It brings together the benefit of generating revenue from the highyield of the leguminous crop and non-wood forest product in which when they are together (integrated), it has good benefits of high yield in their outputs. The relationship between the two (2) is based on each of them complementing their output i.e the higher the rate of pollination in plant (cowpea), the higher its yield/production as well as the availability of nectar for bees which doubles the rate of honey production all round the year.
~METHODOLOGY: An acre of land contains 6 plots of land,It will be divided in a strategic way for efficiency of resource use :
1acre = 6plots
5 plots = 83.3% ~ cowpea cultivation
1plot = 16.7% ~ Apiary/honey production.
A well will be located at the centre of the 5plots for easy access to water/irrigation.

BUSINESS DETAIL (PRODUCTS)
→COWPEA (Vigna unguiculata)
Cowpea is one of the most economical and nutritionally important indigenous African grain legume produced throughout the tropical and subtropical areas of the world. Nigeria is the largest producer and consumer of cowpea accounting for over 45% of the world production with africa producing 75%.vigna unguiculata is a warm weather crop that is well adapted to drier regions of the tropics like Nigeria where other crops do not thrive well, it can grow in poor quality soils and do not require nitrogenous fertiliser, it has rapid growth and will quickly suppress any competing weed, cowpea is drought tolerant needing little or no irrigation after being established. Nutritional benefits from cowpea grain include: 23.4% protein, 1.8% fat, 60.3% carbohydrate, it also serve as a good source of vitamins and phosphorus. After the pods are harvested, the remaining parts of the plant also serve as nutritious fodder for livestocks. The main challenge of cowpea is the infestation by its major storage pest : Bean weevil(calosobrochus maculatus).ORDINARY FARMS is solving the challenge by planting a resistant variety and also it has no intention for long term storage.
→HONEY
Honey is the most durable food that man has ever encountered in the world, it is a non-wood forest product produced by the bees, it is a multiuseful resource with high demand in the market. Honey is the only human food that contain all substances necessary to sustain life including enzymes, vitamins, minerals and water.it is the only food material that contain "pinocembrin" an antioxidant that is associated with improved brain function., honey is highly medicinal as it serve as the cure to many internal and external diseases in the human body.
Real Honey does not need to be advertised as it has a ready available market everywhere i.e. it is high demand by individuals (young and old), stores, hospitals, pharmaceuticals, events and industries. The only obstacle to this venture is the accessibility to hives and all round the year production as the productive activities of honey bees depends on the seasonal fruiting of trees and flower blossom. ORDINARY FARMS is solving the challenge via providing a source of nectar for bees in less than 0.5kilometer from their hives even when the bees can forage 5km away from their hives to seek nectar.

MARKET ANALYSIS/STRATEGY
Cowpea: Nigeria is the largest consumer of cowpea(beans) in the world, the food products does not need much advert as it has a ready available market i.e it is in high demand in market places by retailers, wholesalers, kitchens, stores, eateries, food processing firms and more

~Differential benefits/statistics
Market price of cowpea:- 1bowl = 1.3kg = #500, 38bowls = 50kg = #19,000. To effectively reach out to our customers, ORDINARY FARMS came up with a feasible market plan:-

Farm sale at 1bowl = 1.3kg =#300, 38bowls = 50kg = #11,400.
Distribution/Off farm sales (packaged) at 1bowl = 1.3kg =#400, 38bowls = 50kg = #15,200, 76bowls = 100kg = #30,400.

~HONEY
Real honey does not need advertisement for sales as its availability may never meet the demand, it is a multi useful resource needed both raw and processed by every individual (young and old), stores, pharmaceuticals, hospitals, food processing and pharmaceutical industries.

~Differential benefit/statistics:- General market price for honey is at #2000/litre. ORDINARY FARMS is to sell at :
Farm price/1litre = #1,500(raw honey).

Distribution/off farm (packaged) sales/litre = #1,700

¤Cost Recovery strategy: farm prices of products (cowpea and honey) remain the fixed income price at ORDINARY FARMS as distribution prices are increased on the basis of cost recovery on packaging, label and transportation of products to customers.

¤Consumer Risk advantage:- ORDINARY FARMS is committed to purely organic and natural agriculture, it is executing this venture with no interest for use of chemicals. Products (cowpea and honey ) are free of toxicity by chemicals and other pollutants as proper quality control measures are taken into consideration.

MARKETING AND SALES
The marketing plan of ORDINARY FARMS consist of 2 sale strategy:-
1. 50% farm sales
2. 50% distribution sales.

~SALE ANALYSIS OF COWPEA
As a result of the integrated benefit from pollination, an estimated yield of over 2tonne of cowpea is to be harvested within 3-4months on 5 acre of land;

2.0 tonnes of cowpea = 2000kg
1.3kg = #300

2000kg ÷ 1.3kg =1,537 bowls

Income = 1,537 × #300 = #461,200.

~Sale analysis on honey
An average of 20litres is to be harvested in an hive/month;
1litre = #1,500

1hive = 20litres = #30,000

#30,000 × 5hives = #150,000.

Note: Honey is to be harvested 2 month after the baiting of hives, this is for the colonization by bees and nectar availability for double yield in honey production, thus the harvest process of honey is to be done on 3 operation in 4months/120days. Thus: #150,000 × 3 harvests = #450,000.

Total income in 4months/120days = Cowpea + honey #461,200 + #450,000 = #911,200.

ORDINARY FARMS projects an income of #911,200 in 4months, the same process continues all through the year; 4months+4months+4months = 1 year.

#911,200+#911,200+#911,200 = #2,733,600.
This sum up to #5,467,200 in 2 years.

FARM STRUCTURE
The integrated farming scheme/venture is to managed via this strata:

Mr.Arowolo Emmanuel(farm manager).

← ←←←→→→→
Production distribution
↓ ↓
1contract staff ←←←→→→
↓ processing sale
5 labourers ↓ ↓
3workers(contract) 1driver(1 hired vehicle).

CONCLUSION AND REFERENCES
This is a business proposal/workplan on integrated farming idea on cowpea cultivation and apiary. However, ORDINARY FARMS is set to produce the best for consumer satisfaction thus advancing agriculture for humanity.
I believe this idea have efficiently utilise these resources: 1acre of land,#100,000 and 2year lease period in an economically effective, productive and innovative way.
